Correspondence directed to Kate Kimball, first secretary of Chautauqua Literary and Scientific Circle (CLSC), from local circles around the country and abroad, 1878-1912; of particular note is that from T. A. Leavitt, CLSC organizer in Nebraska prisons, 1886-1905. Scrapbooks of circulars, outline memoranda, and miscellaneous communications, 1874-1903; on the CLSC classes of 1914 and 1915; and two on Chautauqua work in prisons. Other items are the records of First Memphis Local Circle of the CLSC, 1880-85, clippings, course outlines, lesson plans, and certificates.
